During the general elections in the Indian state of Jharkhand, the Election Commission successfully thwarted the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) controversial and hateful campaign, aimed at spreading negative propaganda against Muslims.
The Election Commission issued a notice to the ruling party, BJP, over the circulation of anti-Muslim content, including inflammatory banners and slogans used during their election campaign. In response, the Commission demanded clarification from the BJP and ordered the removal of all such offensive materials.
Furthermore, the Election Commission directed social media platforms and websites to eliminate any hateful content targeting Muslims related to the elections. The Commission emphasized that such actions, promoting hatred against any religion, race, class, or community, are a severe violation of the election code of conduct.
